Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman

5th - 15th December 2005.

Although short this port was not and easy one, due to a limited berth situation we had to shift the ship a number of times, we are just grateful we don't work in deck or engine departments!

Cayman is a hot place for cruise ship's at one time there was as many as 6 ships anchored out from the shore.

Kathryn had the opportunity to visit an elderly people's home were she met a lovely lady from London who had gone out to the Caman islands in the 1940's as a missionary. She was responsible for setting up a number of organisations on the island including the home were she is now a resident.

Steve spent one day painting a church manse. Many of the island was devastated by hurricane Ivan in 2004 and some houses were still not fixed up so we had a one day A-team to help out.
