Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo
20th January - 8th February 2006.
Santo Domingo, such a contrast to the wealth of the Bahamas.
The difference was evident as soon as we went out, with street
children asking for money all the time.
It was great that Steve’s parents came out to visit us and
we took a couple of days off to spend time with them and explored the surroundings.
During the ship’s visit in Santo Domingo we were able
to work with Samaritan’s purse again and provide
Christmas boxes to many children who came on board
for gospel programs, which Stan & Anne helped out with.
During this port Kathryn changed jobs and became the
Assistant Purser and Captain’s PA. She is now involved
with port authorities as well as making sure the ship is
running legally and all crew are trained.
