Pre-ship training - 1st-21st September
After we arrived in Trinidad we spent 3 weeks of intensive practical and spirtual training, preparing us for life and ministry aboad the Logos 2. This included, First Aid, Survival skills, Evangelism techniques, crowd management, emergency procedures, cultural orientation and much more. Our 3 weeks ended with an overnight church team where we took part in open air evangelism, door-to-door tracting and church services where Steve gave the main message.
We arrive on logos II!
On 21st of September we finally arrive on board Logos 2. We were made welcome by the ships company and thrown straight into life boat drills! Both of us are working as part of the Book Exhibition team. Kathryn is working in the Book Hold, picking, pricing and unpacking books for sale in the book exhibition. This is a very physical and demanding job, especially getting up at 4.30AM to start work at 5AM. Steve is managing the Deal Bag Room which specialises in distibuting donated textbooks. This is also demanding as the Room is open from 10 until 10 everyday and Steve is in charge for these 12 hrs.
We are settling in well and getting used to ship life, dispite having to move cabins after one week! We are in Trinidad until the 4th October.
